Discuss the ending to the novel. Was it satifactory ending? Why or why not? What
would you have done differently?
Answer:At the end of the book it's Rowdy and Junior kicking it like old times. They were climbing
the biggest tree on the reservation.Doing the things that friends do.Junior was saying his goodbyes, and all Rowdy wanted was to keep in touch.Rowdy almost accepted the fact that his friend was leaving, there was no physical contact needed this time.Just a friendly goodbye.I think it's a great ending.I wouldn't of asked for a better one.Friends for life no matter what.Classic ending if i do say so myshelf. In the book it says"Yeah,"Rowdy Said."Just make sure you send me postcards, you asshole."(Alexie 229)Clearly explaining their friendship will last forever.

Blog Entry 1 for The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian
My first inpressions of Junior were he seems like an outsider. He has glasses and doesn't leave his house much. When he does leave his house he usually gets beat up at least once a day.He has speach problems which affects his confidence.People on the rez look at him as the loser and the kid that doesn't have many friends. He is like an outsider.People wouldn't even notice he was gone.I have never had a diary.I probably read my sisters when i was little, but never had one.I think the reason Junior keeps a diary is because it's something he can rely on.Since he doesn't get out much he spends time writing.I think he names it the "absoultely true"diary because he writes it how is.He doesn't hold back he tells what is on his mind.
When the times get tough in life,I turn to my music. My music is my lifeboat and when i am down it lifts me up.I don't have that many bad days, but when I do music is there for me.I can only imagine how it's for Junior.A kid who is feeling alone and needs something to get him through the day. It's hard for a kid like that.Hopefully the switch to a different school will be a blessing in desguise.
I especially like the quote when Juniors says"What kind of men beat up a fourteen-year-old boy?Major-League assholes.(Alexis 21).I like how Junior gets kneed in the balls and he sort of jokes about it.I think it's because he is so use to it.If you are thirty and you are beating up a 14 year old,you have major problems.
